The Titans have taken strides to improve on a team which finds itself with another top five pick in the draft. They’ve added what should amount to three new starters on offense, and while the unit greatly improved, there’s more to do.
Laremy Tunsil is the best offensive line prospect in the class and the ideal player to place in front of franchise future Marcus Mariota. Re-signing Byron Bell and adding center Ben Jones to the fold is a good start to ensuring the health of their second year quarterback, but the team can’t do too much to bolster a line which allowed a league high 54 sacks in 2015.
Mariota missed four games last season due to injury and adding all the free agents in the world won’t matter if the team doesn’t have their leader to bring it all together. Veteran Matt Cassel is a decent insurance policy, but it’s one the team hopes not to use.
The addition of DeMarco Murray in the Tennessee backfield will look even smarter with the Ole Miss standout pushing lineman off course and sealing the edges.
Tunsil has been the projection at the top for a while, and he should remain there as the Titans look to cement their future.
