. QB. North Dakota State. Carson Wentz. 20. player. 30
The success of this pick hinges on the Jets getting a deal done with veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Carson Wentz from North Dakota State has a truck ton of upside if he can develop into the player his potential says he can, but he needs time. Without Fitz, the Jets don’t have time, and if Wentz is forced into play too soon it could have terrible ramifications.
However, if there is a team with the weapons to help Wentz start from day one without imploding, it’s the Jets. Resiliency expert Brandon Marshall and fellow receiver Erik Decker are a great tandem on the outside, and veteran free agent Matt Forte will carry the load to take pressure off the rookie if he’s forced into action.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t come to that.
