Brent Grimes’ declined play probably had as much to do with personal relationships as it did ability. Either way, he’s no longer in Miami. Byron Maxwell is, but he’s battling his own inconsistencies and can’t cover both halves of the field by himself.

The newly re-tooled defensive line won’t matter one bit if there’s nobody in the secondary to cover opposing receivers.

Mackensie Alexander from Clemson provides the Dolphins a legitimate starter to go opposite of Maxwell, and gives the team’s defense a fighting chance.

College quarterbacks didn’t throw towards Alexander very often, he should have no such problem in the NFL.
