Sean Smith’s departure to AFC West rival Oakland did two things in Kansas City. It ensured Marcus Peters would be significantly less busy in 2016, and it opened a gaping hole in the Chiefs’ secondary.

Eli Apple making it past the Steelers is not a popular choice, but one which could happen if the team values their front-line strength over everything.

The door would then be open, and Kansas City would have to jump at the chance to take the talented Buckeye who can work in man coverage or the zone, as he got experience in both while in Columbus.
