2016 NFL Mock Draft Version 5.0-Two Full Rounds
Eagles’ owner Jeffrey Lurie and his staff have done well erasing all remnants of the Chip Kelly era.
Now it’s time to start installing members of the Doug Pederson regime. Ezekiel Elliott from Ohio State satisfies Philadelphia’s biggest need at this point as they look to replace DeMarco Murray, or what he was supposed to be, after his departure to the Titans.
Elliott is a do-it-all kind of back who can obviously run, but has underrated receiving skills and is a better blocker than most realize. His hard-nosed attitude fits the Eagles’ perfectly, and he’ll make good use of new guard Brandon Brooks.
Ryan Matthews is a serviceable back, but is best suited as a change of pace guy. Elliott should come in splitting carries, but by the time the playoff push begins, expect “Zeke” to be carrying a three-down load for the Eagles.
