Many people, including the New York Jets, would be very surprised to see Carson Wentz still available when they go on the clock, but that’s exactly what happens here.

With the quarterback situation still in flux, Ryan Fitzpatrick isn’t the long-term solution no matter where he plays in 2016.  While the Jets would love to have him back for the right price, their future is securely attached to the next great young prospect they bring in.

Drafting Wentz attaches their future to his, and it should give him one of the most cerebral mentors a young quarterback could ask for.
