28. player. 124. . LB. Georgia. Leonard Floyd
Re-signing Tamba Hali will keep the Chiefs’ defense among the league’s best, but he won’t be around forever. Leonard Floyd is a player who can make an impact immediately as a situational player and on special teams.
The long-term upside with Floyd is perfect for Kansas City as he can develop into the heir apparent to Hali’s position when he decides to call it a career.
The Chiefs are going to be in a process of transition shortly with many aging core players on their roster. Landing Floyd here gives them a head start.
