Iowa has had a strong history of linemen coming to the NFL, the latest being Brandon Scherff. Blythe follows that line right into the NFL with Tampa. Building a strong offensive line to protect their franchise quarterback and open holes for the running game is of the utmost importance, and Blythe makes a good value in the sixth round.
Here is Sayre Bedinger from NFL Mocks:
"For me, the biggest strengths Blythe has are experience, strength, smarts, technique, and quickness. He’s not fast by any means, but he moves well for a big man and he’s going to need to because he has incredibly short arms for an offensive lineman."
It’s clear why Iowa has been churning out talented linemen. These guys are well-coached, and Blythe is no different. Bedinger believes that Blythe may be a starter that can be had in the later rounds, and I agree. If Licht goes this route he could have a sleeper.
