The Bucs will Draft a Tight End

Austin Seferian-Jenkins has shown some promise in his first two seasons in the league.  Last season, he averaged 16.1 yards per reception, with was only .2 yards behind Rob Gronkowski.  He also doubled his touchdown output from two as a rookie to four last season.  He was becoming a solid weapon down the seam for Jameis Winston and company.

When he was on the field, that is.

The problem is that “ASJ” has had a tough time staying on the field over his first two seasons.  Since being draft, Austin has only been active for 16 out of a possible 32 games.  That obviously is not good enough.  It’s not time to dub him an injury problem, but look for Jason Licht to find insurance at the position, just in case.

Jerell Adams is a player that is worth keeping an eye on.  He stands at 6’5″, an excellent weapon size for an NFL tight end.  Nick Vannett is another player to watch, coming from Ohio State.  At 6’6″, he would be a redwood tree for Jameis to throw to, and his 4.2 time posted in the 20 yard shuttle shows his ability to move.
