Without an inside linebacker available to facilitate the move of Clay Matthews back to the outside linebacker position, the Packers have to make a move to replace B.J. Raji, who is sitting out this season if he’s not calling it a career.

A’Shawn Robinson from Alabama is a defensive tackle who can fill the role held by Raji and will potentially do so seamlessly.

While Green Bay would certainly prefer to have Raji and build upon the team rather than replace someone they expected to have, adding Robinson to the defense can’t be a negative and may actually accelerate Raji’s retirement.
