After essentially releasing cornerback Josh Norman, the Panthers’ defense is suddenly exposed in the passing game and they’re a little less secure as favorites to challenge for another Super Bowl appearance.

When Carolina let Norman walk, they did so under the idea that dumping so much salary would handcuff them moving forward. While many would echo the same sentiment the team still needs to replace him.

William Jackson III is the best cornerback available here and is the team’s best chance to plug some holes in their secondary. Jackson III made his climb in the draft at the combine after a great workout, and with his addition to the Panthers’ defense he’ll get his chance to prove he isn’t just a workout warrior.
