Leonard Floyd starred as an inside linebacker at Georgia, but possesses the athletic ability to play any linebacking position in a 4-3 scheme. Floyd would be an immediate upgrade at inside or outside linebacker for the Giants. He can take over for Jasper Brinkley at middle and run the defense and also be switched to weakside for more blitzing opportunities and favorable matchups,
Floyd has begun to get the recognition he deserves and his rise in the first round shouldn’t come as a surprise to many who watched him play. There are needs on both sides of the ball in New York, but rebuilding this defense before Eli Manning’s clock runs out should be the top priority.
