Quarterback. Michigan State. Connor Cook. 31. player. 45.

The Broncos have seemed to strike out wherever they look for a quarterback. They couldn’t get a deal done to keep Osweiler, couldn’t pull off a trade for Kaepernick, and won’t be able to pull of a trade for Sam Bradford. So, it’s time to look for one you can lock up for very affordable money for the next five years.

I believed Cook was the best quarterback prospect heading into the 2015 season. Although he took a step back, he’s still worthy of a first round pick just as much as Wentz or Goff is. Yes, we’ve heard the stories that he is difficult to work with and can be hard headed, but that sounds an awful lot like a certain team President in Denver, doesn’t it?

Look, if Cook isn’t the guy for the future, he isn’t being forced to start immediately anyway. Mark Sanchez is there and can be the starter, but we all know he isn’t the quarterback of the future, either. Might as well take a shot on a kid with a lot of potential and lock him up for five years than to hold your breath waiting on Kaepernick or Bradford.
