Defensive Line-(9)

Jacquies Smith, Gerald McCoy, Clinton McDonald, Robert Ayers, William Gholston, Noah Spence, Akeem Spence, Kourtnei Brown, Howard Jones

The defensive tackle position may seem thin to Bucs’ fans with Gerald McCoy, Clinton McDonald and Akeem Spence as the only true tackles, but realize that Robert Ayers, William Gholston and Kourtnei Brown can slip inside also based on the situation.  Last year both Jacquies Smith and Howard Jones had successful seasons in 2015, with seven sacks and five sacks respectively, but the Bucs’ still need more out of their edge rush.

With the second round selection Noah Spence being placed into the rotation at end, don’t be surprised if the production increases.  George Johnson had a pretty rough return to the Bucs’ last season.  With his price tag and lack of production, many don’t believe he will make it through final cuts.
