Russell Shepard

Shepard is another undrafted free agent that is a bit taller than Humphries, standing at 6’1″, as opposed to Humphries at 5’11”.  Injury shortened his 2015 as well, but he wasn’t a big part of the offense prior to the injury either.  He posted one touchdown, but was only targeted nine times, catching three passes for 28 yards.  He averaged nearly 16 yards per catch in 2015, with four receptions and 63 yards.

He only posted 700 yards receiving over four years with LSU, and never posted more than 45 catches.  His speed is decent, running a 4.46 in the forty yard dash at his pro day.  His background isn’t one of a superstar necessarily, but a secondary role?  He has potential there.  Maybe he is the guy to take on the role of number three.
