A week after missing three field goals and an extra point, kicker Kyle Brindza would miss two more field goal attempts and another extra point in a 14 point loss to the Carolina Panthers. The next week he would be out of a job and the Bucs would welcome back Connor Barth to assume kicking duties.
As for the maturation of a young quarterback, failures and setbacks are all part of the learning process, and Winston learned a lot in Week 4.
Four interceptions overshadowed the two touchdown passes and the nearly 300 yards Winston threw for against the eventual NFC Champion Carolina Panthers.
147 yards receiving for Vincent Jackson was big, but Mike Evans was all but eliminated due to the excellent play of Josh Norman who also returned an interception for a touchdown in the first quarter.
For the second straight week the rookie finished in the bottom half of active quarterbacks, coming in 24th on the week in fantasy scoring.
