To start the season, the Bucs face their rivals up in Georgia, the Atlanta Falcons.  Last season, the Bucs were able to sweep the birds and hope to do so once again.  The Falcons’ offense is the obvious strength to this team.  With Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Devonta Freeman, their three-headed monster has teams game planning around how to stop them.

The Bucs’ defense will be fine against the run, but will our 5’11” corners be able to lock down Julio?  The defense up in Atlanta is nowhere near anything special, and with Jameis and the rest of the Bucs’ offense having two years in Coach Koetter’s system this could play to their advantage. Mike Smith, our defensive coordinator, and Coach Koetter came from Atlanta.

Therefore, because of their familiarity in the players on the Falcons’ roster, it could play to our advantage.
