Kwon Alexander was well on his way to “fan favorite” status when he was struck by the tragic death of his younger brother. Despite the grieving Alexander insisted on playing, and play he did.

In an emotional performance which was capped off by the handing of the game ball to the teary-eyed rookie from team captain Logan Mankins, the young pro had to experience one of life’s worst moments on the biggest stage and he did it with amazing determination.

The moment he ripped the ball from the arms of the Falcons’ Julio Jones, Alexander was cemented as a player fans loved to watch.

His team won a surprisingly close game 23-20, and the LSU product totaled 27 points himself finishing second among NFL linebackers in fantasy scoring.

Tampa’s defense finished 8th and it was the team’s third straight top-10 fantasy finish. Owners everywhere were taking notice and the Bucs D was being plucked out of free-agent pools in many leagues.

It was also the fifth time in seven games a linebacker led the team in defensive player fantasy scoring.
