Top Individual Score: Alterraun Verner – 20 points (8 Tackles, 1 INT)
For a team facing off against Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. surrendering 213 yards passing is actually a positive.
However, as is the case at times, the defense was able to contain the Giants offense enough to allow while their offense just couldn’t get into the endzone.
Three times the Buccaneers were able to get the ball into scoring range and each time came away with just a field goal. With the seconds ticking away and down by eight they tried the miracle lateral play and instead surrendered a defensive touchdown to New York as the clock expired giving the Giants a more lopsided final score than earned.
In fantasy scoring four points won’t encite a lot of excitement among owners, but in a week where only four teams scored double digits, being tied for 13th isn’t enough to hang a loss on.
Alterraun Verner led defenders in fantasy scoring with 20 points in a performance which was cashed in by just about nobody as the Bucs secondary continued to take the brunt of criticism from fans and experts alike.
