Tight End

In what is sure to amount to a battle with every bit as much drama as a soap opera, it shouldn’t surprise a single Bucs fan to see Austin Seferian-Jenkins begin the season on the bench. After being kicked out of practice, the twitter meltdown that ensued afterwards, culminating with him threatening a fan, who just happened to be a member of the Tampa Fire Department, ASJ is in the dog house big time.

One of Jameis Winston‘s favorite targets down the stretch last season was Cameron Brate. It will more than likely be Brate who takes the first snap of 2016 at tight end when the Bucs go on offense for the first time.

Brate, who was signed off the Saints’ practice squad last season, finished with 23 catches for 288 yards and three touchdowns. Sixteen of his targets came with ten or more yards to go on down and distance, equating to 255 of his yards and two of his touchdowns. Five of his targets came in the Red Zone. Winston built up quite a rapport with Brate and Bucs fans should be excited to see that spill over into 2016.
