What is the deal with the former Buccaneers’ defenders?
By Zach Sauers

Danny “Tackling Success” Lansanah: a player finally other than a defensive tackle. Lansanah is a NFL journeyman who finally received some luck when the Bucs plucked him off the New York Jets’ practice squad in December of 2013. Although he received no playing time in 2013, the next season under Lovie Smith and company he was able to play once then starter Jonathan Casillas was injured.
Lansanah seemed to take the bull by the horns and really showed that he was able to play in this league after all. His 2014 season was an utter success with three interceptions, one and a half sacks, and 81 total tackles. Though once the 2015 season came around, it was as if he had disappeared. The 2015 season left Lansanah with only one sack and 47 tackles to his name.
So what happened? The scheme? The coaching? Whatever it was, it eventually left him without a job. The Bucs decided to let him walk, and he has yet to hear from another team.
So what is the reason why former Buc defenders have been left without jobs? Were the Bucs playing with little to no talent, or has the shell shock of an outdated defense damaged the careers of players that have gone through Lovie’s scheme? Let us all just hope that the Bucs still under contract do not suffer from any sort of negativity from the past couple seasons. What do you think Buc fans?
