Buccaneers Report Card Versus The Rams
Linebackers
If the Buccaneer wide receivers were 1A today, the linebackers were 1B. Lavonte David bounced back from a tackle-less game against Arizona and led the team in tackles this week with seven. David did it all on Sunday, recording a sack, tackle for loss, and a huge forced fumble that helped swing momentum. It was vintage Lavonte David.
Kwon Alexander was equal parts good, finishing second behind David in tackles with six. Kwon was consistent throughout and had the play of the game for the Bucs’ defense on a 38 yard pick-six in the first half. Daryl Smith did not record a tackle.
It was encouraging to see the Bucs’ linebackers bounce back and answer the call against one of the best running backs in football. Alexander has been much maligned for his ability to cover, so it was nice to see him come up with a big splash play.
