Offense

Overall the Buccaneer offense was good enough to win most weeks versus the Rams. They cruised up and down the field, scored touchdowns, and picked up chunks of yardage. What killed the Bucs offense was untimely turnovers in the form of a tipped pick from Jameis Winston and then a strip-sack later that would be returned or a touchdown.

The Buccaneer run game was surprisingly good in the absence of Doug Martin. Facing a tough front seven the Bucs fearlessly attacked them on the ground and picked up some big first downs. The biggest came in the 4th quarter on 4th down and 1; Despite a stumbling Winston, Charles Sims took the hand-off and ripped off a 33 yard run that set up a Jameis Winston touchdown a few plays later.

Quarterback Jameis Winston successfully bounced back from his nightmare game versus the Cardinals, throwing for 405 yards and three touchdowns on 58 attempts. He relentlessly targeted Mike Evans who had 10 catches for 132 yards and a touchdown. Cameron Brate stepped up and scored two touchdowns. The Bucs made a final run at it in the closing seconds, but ultimately it wasn’t enough for the Bucs to get a win.

Let’s take a closer look at how the individual units for the Bucs performed.
