The Mind of a Franchise Player

To me, the biggest issue the Bucs have to get right is not one about acquiring players. It’s not about lineup changes either. It’s about Jameis Winston. He has to get his mind right on every play.

Some of the throws he makes are why he is also one of the Bucs biggest strengths. The touchdown to Humphries on Sunday night was incredible, and a throw that not many people could make. His physical attributes are some of the best the game has to offer.

But, his head isn’t always on straight. His lack of pocket awareness was on display last week in Dallas. The second sack-fumble was on Winston for holding the ball too long. He has to get rid of the football. He must make better decisions with the football as well, as he threw three interceptions that night. His weaknesses could bury this team. Dirk has to get him there. He must get better.
