The Giants took steps to improve their defense last year and they ended up in the post-season, just not as deep as they’d like to have gone.

Adding Wisconsin linebacker T.J. Watt does more than bring in another little brother of an NFL great, it adds more talent to perhaps the biggest unit in need of it.

He should be able to slide into a starting role on the Giants defense by the end of the pre-season and make the occasional splash play as he gets his NFL legs under him.

He’ll always get compared to big bro J.J., but T.J. Watt is definitely his own player, yet still one who could be a good addition to the G-Men and develop into a very good outside linebacker.

I’m interested to see if the intensity the older Watt plays with on defense runs in the family when this Badger takes the field in Indianapolis.
