Are we really talking about a playoff team drafting a quarterback in the first round? Apparently, we are.

Last off-season some – not all – people thought Brock Osweiler was going to be a football savior in Houston and he landed a big payday as John Elway said farewell to yet another former Arizona State quarterback.

At the time, the debate was about whether Elway was crazy smart or crazy crazy. Turns out he was the first, and now the Texans are quarterback shopping despite hitting the post-season.

You almost feel bad for Mr. Osweiler, but then you don’t.

DeShone Kizer unfortunately is a guy who’s going to need some time before truly stepping in and taking the reins I think.

I wouldn’t call him pro-ready, so it’ll be interesting to see if names like Matt Schaub surface in free-agency as possible bridges between the current Houston quarterback problem and the future Golden Domed solution.
