I don’t know how smart letting Alshon Jeffrey walk into free-agency is for the Chicago Bears, but taking Marshon Lattimore from Ohio State to bolster their outside coverage could begin to make up for it.

While some will point to a receiver as the logical target here, I don’t see the Bears going in this direction in the first-round given the experience they’re currently having with wide receiver Kevin White.

It’s a pass-happy league and they’re in a division with Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford and Sam Bradford, who are all capable of exploiting weak coverages.

This team doesn’t have the greatest success with first-round corners lately either, but Lattimore is an elite talent who should sooth some of those worries.

I’m very interested to see this young man run, and keep a close eye on his movements and foot work during the defensive back drills in Indianapolis.
