With Karl Joseph already showing flashes of being a solid grab, drafting a running mate would secure the top end of Oakland’s defense for the next decade.

Reggie Nelson is a nice player currently filing the free-safety spot on the Raiders’ roster, but he won’t be around forever.

Unless the team plans on jumping from one aging veteran to another, they need to secure some young talent now.

Budda Baker can be their future at the position, and in the meantime, provides some all-important insurance for the Raiders defense and an option to cover down in the slot as a rookie.

This player is one of my favorite in this entire class, and I think whoever gets him is getting a steal outside of the Top-15.

Landing him at 24th is a dream come true for fans of the franchise, and he’ll prove it with early and consistent play.
