I’m amazed Russell Wilson wasn’t hurt sooner with the offensive line the Seahawks have put around him, but they can start to mend the holes in the fence through the draft.

Beginning with their top pick, selecting offensive tackle Garett Bolles to go along with linemen Luke Joeckel and last year’s first round pick Germain Ifedi; this team can begin protecting their quarterback instead of having him running around in the open.

Much of their running game woes were blamed on the backs themselves. While they certainly have to shoulder some of the blame, I feel the majority should go to the line.

Simply, if there are no lanes to run through, no running back outside of Barry Sanders can make things happen.

The “Legion of Boom” is going to need reinforcements soon, but Seattle can find some help there in day two or three of the draft.

No matter what, this offensive line has to continue building if Wilson is going to be able to have a long and fruitful NFL career.
