A surprise last season, the Lions made the playoffs after Calvin Johnson made a surprising retirement. Replacing him with the combo of Golden Tate, Anquan Boldin, and Marvin Jones, Matt Stafford had a solid season. Recording the third highest quarterback rating of his career, Stafford had 26 touchdowns and 12 turnovers, passing and rushing. After a 9-4 start the Lions lost their final four games including a Wild Card loss to the Seattle Seahawks. This off-season the Lions snagged two of the top offensive linemen available in Ricky Wagner and TJ Lang. Grabbing Lang from division rival Packers is going to hurt the Packers more than they believe.

They had a middle of the road defense but their biggest are of concern is the running game. Theo Riddick lead the team in rushing yards with 357 good for 49th in the NFL. If Ameer Abdullah could stay healthy they may have a shot with a solid rotation. If he falls, however, Christian McCaffrey could be an option.
