. . Dallas Cowboys. 9. team. 123.

Dallas was the surprise of 2016 but due to cap issues they lost some pieces on defense. Dak Prescott has definitely been the best and worst thing to happen to Jerry Jones. The only down side for Jones is that he has to figure out to do with his aging fragile golden goose Tony Romo. Likely to finally release Romo after multiple failed attempts at a trade him, Jones has to rip the band-aid off. Ezekiel Elliott is going to be the second coming of Emmitt Smith for the Cowboys, and might even surpass him behind that offensive line. Losing Ronald Leary to an $8 million per year sounds bad but he wasn’t even going to start this year.

Defense is where the Cowboys are going to have most of its issues. Due to cap space restrictions they lost four players in the secondary. Brandon Carr, Barry Church, Morris Claiborne, and J.J. Wilcox all signed with new teams. They did sign Nolan Carroll but that fills one spot with three remaining. The Cowboys are going to have to look towards the draft for their next wave. Maybe they pair up Byron Jones with another super athlete and UConn alum Obi Melifonwu. Annoyingly good again, the Cowboys are legit contenders in the NFC.
