The Seahawks offense was extremely inconsistent last season but the defense proved they should still not be messed with. The Seattle offensive lines was one of the worst in the league last season. They did sign Luke Joeckel which should help the line issues as well.
Russell Wilson played in every game last season was not healthy. He injured his knee and ankle early this season and was had limited mobility. When you have a bad line and can’t move your offense is going to struggle. Wilson had the most passing yards of his career, 4,219, but had a career high in interceptions, 11, and low in rushing yards, 259. The lack of running game due to injuries and poor offensive line last year will be improved this off-season with the signing of Eddie Lacy. Lacy has had productive seasons with the Packers but recently had issues with injuries and weight. The combination of Thomas Rawls and Lacy should help get pressure off Wilson this season.
The Seahawks defense has not lost a step over the past three seasons. The injury of Kam Chancellor early and Earl Thomas late definitely hurt their secondary but when they were both on the field there were no space to throw. Signing Bradley McDougald from the Bucs should help if one of them were to go down again. They still have Michael Bennett and Richard Sherman this defense is going to be top five again this season. The fate of the team rests on the offense.
