Buccaneers’ 2017 Preseason Schedule Released
By Bailey Adams
Fans, there is now officially a game to look forward to. The Buccaneers’ 2017 preseason schedule came out this afternoon, signaling that the season is inching closer and closer.
For those of us wanting to know the first time we can see the 2017 Buccaneers take the field, we now have our answer- well, in a general sense. This afternoon, the NFL released its full preseason schedule, though without set dates. Like last year, Tampa Bay’s starts with two straight away games and ends with two straight home matchups. The full schedule can be seen below:
Aug. 10-14: at Cincinnati Bengals
Aug. 17: at Jacksonville Jaguars, 8 p.m. (Televised by ESPN)
Aug. 24-27: vs Cleveland Browns
Aug. 31-Sept. 1: vs Washington Redskins
To start with, Cincinnati is back on Tampa Bay’s preseason slate after a one-year absence. Jacksonville is there for third time in four seasons, while Cleveland makes a week three trip to Tampa for the third straight preseason. Lastly, Washington pops up for the sixth time in seven years. And for the second straight year, Miami is missing from the four-game lineup. This year, it’s likely due to the fact that the Bucs head south to play the Dolphins in the regular season.
The Bucs’ regular season schedule should be out later this month, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
For now, though, the four-game preseason slate will have to be enough. Some time between Aug. 10 and Aug. 14 will be the first chance (in game action) to see Jameis Winston connect with DeSean Jackson. It will also mark the debut of the team’s newest rookie additions and of course, it will be the first in-game platform for those fighting for roster spots.
