One of the assumed top targets for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is on his way to Tampa for a pre-draft visit.

It was only a matter of time, right? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hosting Florida State running back Dalvin Cook for a visit and he’s currently en route;

Now, keep in mind a visit doesn’t mean a player is going to be drafted obviously. Each team gets thirty visits so the Buccaneers may legitimately be interested – and it seems they are – but there’s always the outside chance the bring a player in for a visit strictly to build a file on them or to appear to show interest when really they want another player to slide down.

Cook has been linked to the Bucs numerous times, including in recent mock drafts, and much of it has to do with the connection to Jameis Winston.

The Winston/Cook relationship doesn’t translate to much in the NFL aside from familiarity with one another. Different offense, different coaches, different environment. They are friends, there is a trust between the two – which is great – but it won’t be the main factor in the Bucs’ decision come draft night.

This isn’t the first time Cook has visited with the Bucs either, rumor has it. Cook was spotted in a restaurant with a Bucs “recruiter” earlier in the off-season;

Dalvin Cook would be a welcomed addition by most Bucs fans as the future at running back. A player that can grow and develop a rapport with Jameis and Mike Evans as the Buccaneers’ version of “the triplets”, which they’ve never even been on the brink of having.

There will be updates sure to come from this but I wouldn’t expect the official Bucs website or Twitter page to be positing any photos of his visit the way they did for Winston. There’s still a decent chance Cook is gone by time the Bucs are on the clock.
