With the fourteenth overall selection in the 2017 NFL draft the Philadelphia Eagles select, Christian McCaffrey running back out of Stanford. FLY EAGLES FLY! That is just what they did, and that is exactly what McCaffrey can do.

The selection of McCaffrey not only gives the Eagles one of the most all-around talented college prospects but also one of the best running back options in this draft. McCaffrey is a running back who can come in and split the load with a fellow runner (Ryan Matthews) and still be an utter success in Doug Pederson’s system. One minute he will be lined up in the backfield, and the next he is causing absolute havoc as a slot receiver in the passing game.

McCaffrey is exactly what this Eagles’ offense needs to produce at a high level. He is a multi-faceted threat that can make defenses cringe. He will join Matthews to help take the pressure off of his quarterback.

If Philadelphia continues to build the pieces around the talented Carson Wentz, they just may bring in their first Lombardi.
