Week Four New York Giants at Tampa Bay Bucs

Vegas Spread: Buccaneers (-2.5)

This is the first Vegas spread that actually surprised me in the Bucs favor. If you have seen my Power Rankings, I believe the New York Giants are one of the best teams in the NFL. Their defense came alive last season giving them something they haven’t had since their last Super Bowl victory. Players like Damon Harrison and Olivier Vernon took the Big Blue to a new level. If Tom Coughlin had these players he might not have been fired.

They also have improved their offense weapons. Adding Brandon Marshall and Evan Engram gives Eli Manning two big red zone threats they needed. Like the Bucs the Giants have a few running backs but none that are really Pro Bowl caliber.

Doug Martin does return for this game but what kind of Doug Martin are we going to get? Even if he looks good in the preseason, it is simply impossible to tell how he will come out of the gate from the suspension.

The Giants are a threatening team that can beat anyone and even in Tampa I think Vegas should see the Giants as the better all-around team.

My Spread: Bucs (+1)
