Week 9 @ New Orleans Saints

It was real tempting to put one of the two games against the Carolina Panthers in this spot mainly because of the Bucs 2-0 record versus them last year. I instead opted to go with the New Orleans Saints game in the Superdome, the place where the Bucs playoff hopes basically came to an end last year on Christmas Eve. Drew Brees and the Saints have been killing the Bucs for years now, at one point beating the Bucs seven straight games from 2011-2014.

The Superdome is an extremely tough place to play in, regardless if New Orleans isn’t the elite football team it once was years back. Brees will one day be enshrined into the Hall of Fame and he still has plenty of talent around him to lead a top offense in football. Michael Thomas, Adrian Peterson, Mark Ingram, and Willie Snead are a few of the top options at his disposal. The Bucs defense shut this offense down in the first matchup last year, holding them to 11 points, but gave up 31 in the pivotal second game.

This one should be a high scoring affair as Winston will have his way with the Saints awful secondary. As previously mentioned, this offense has a lot of hype to live up to and this should be one of the easier defenses they face throughout the year. This is a revenge game though and the Bucs are going to get up for this contest against a division rival no matter how good or bad the Saints are. Like every year, the annual two game set against New Orleans always gets my attention.
