Week 15 vs. Atlanta Falcons

This Monday Night showdown might be the single most important game in the Bucs upcoming season. Since this game is only two weeks away from playoff time, there’s a high possibility that serious playoff implications can be on the line for both teams. Imagine how rocking Raymond James Stadium will be if this is for first place? It would be an unreal atmosphere. The divisional rival aspect makes this game even that more intriguing.

Last year’s MVP Matt Ryan and the offense embarrassed the Bucs on their home field, dropping 43 points on a nationally televised Thursday Night Football game. After that game was when the Bucs went on their season changing five game winning streak. That blowout really lit a fire under Smith’s defense as they played exceptional on that side of the ball to end the year. The Bucs starting corners, Brent Grimes and Vernon Hargreaves, have a hard time in this matchup considering how small they are compared to the Falcons receivers. Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu are both well over six feet tall and tower over the Bucs secondary.

The Falcons defense is by no means elite but they always happen to make a play when they need one. Winston is going to have to take advantage of this sub par defense to match the Falcons offense, which at times can look like a video game. In four games against the Falcons, Winston is now 3-1 so there’s no backing down against them on his part. Hopefully the rest of the young Bucs are ready for this big game as well. The least we can do is pray for a game that has a lot of meaning to it, especially first place on the line.
