Two Buccaneers Will Have 100 Tackles

Last season Kwon Alexander lead the NFL in solo tackles with 108 ending with 145 total tackles leading the Bucs with the next closest player Bradley McDougald (now a Seahawk) with 91 total tackles. Lavonte David who had led the Bucs in tackles the previous four season finished with a disappointing 87 total tackles last season.

It is not that uncommon for teams to have two players with 100 or more tackles it happened seven times last season with Jacksonville having three players with 100 tackles. The achievement has been a rare feat for the Bucs though happening twice in the last ten season most recently in 2012 when linebackers Lavonte David had 139 tackles and Mason Foster had 105 tackles.

With a second season in Mike Smith’s aggressive multiple front defense there could be several options for players to get 100 tackles or more including Kwon Alexander, a bounce back year from Lavonte David, or one of the two starting safeties.

It is likely that Kwon will have his regular 100 plus tackle season and I am predicting that David will get back to his Pro Bowl form this season and also have 100 plus tackles.
