The Buccaneers have a pretty good history at the linebacker positions. Today’s group is pretty good, but where do they rank among the NFC South linebackers ?

If the Buccaneers defense takes the next step from up-and-coming unit to one of the league’s best, their linebackers will be the catalyst.

No group impacts every snap of the game like the linebackers do, and the Bucs certainly have some impressive young players to boast on their depth chart.

Carolina has a former defensive player of the year in their linebacker room, and there’s no doubt he is a big part of their team’s mentality.

In New Orleans, a steady rotation of free-agent acquisitions and draft picks continues to cycle through as they try and get the right mix in their own linebacker group.

Finally, Atlanta leaned more on their players at this position they even they could have anticipated coming in to 2016 as they made their way to the Super Bowl. How they continue to develop will go a long way to determining if they can continue their success.

The Buccaneers have some competition to claiming the top spot, but let’s see how they measure up against the rest of the NFC South!
