4. Running back LeGarrette Blount (2010 – 2012)

Signed by the Buccaneers in September 2010 from the University of Oregon after being suspended for most of the 2009 season after punching a Boise State player on National TV after a game. After being with the Tennessee Titans during training camp and the preseason.

Playing in 40 games while starting 21 he totaled 426 carries 1939 yards (4.6 yards/carry.) with thirteen touchdowns. His best season with the Buccaneers was the 2010 season where he played in thirteen games starting seven and had 201 carries 1007 yards (5.0 yards/carry.) with six touchdowns.

During the 2011 season he started fourteen games but only had 184 carries for 781 yards (4.2 yards/carry) with five touchdowns.

After Doug Martin was drafted in the first round of the 2012 draft he did not start a single game during the 2012 season and only had 41 carries for 152 yards and two touchdowns, but Martin did amassed 1926 yards from scrimmage with twelve total touchdowns and was selected to the Pro Bowl.

In April of 2013 he was traded to the New England Patriots for a seventh round pick and running back / kick returner Jeff Demps.

Since he has been with the Patriots he has played in 60 games starting 49 with 749 carries 3183 yards (4.2 yards/carry) and 36 touchdowns. Oh yeah, and has won two Super Bowl titles in 2014 and the unbelievable comeback against the Falcons in 2016.

With Martin’s history of injuries maybe the Buccaneers could have used him to fill in for Martin, oops.
