Ali Marpet

OK folks, no wise cracks. Ali Marpet is not included because of his size. There is a good reason.

It isn’t difficult to be a fan of Ali Marpet. Players from small schools tend to be hungry and remember that they have to earn everything they get. Marpet fits that bill completely. He came as a second round pick from small Hobart college and walked right into the Bucs starting lineup. Marpet has started 29 games in his young career, all at right guard. He and Donovan Smith are slated to lead a young offensive line for many years to come.

Again, we reiterate the importance of someone willing to try anything to help the team succeed. That’s who I want in a foxhole. Sometimes, you have to think outside of the box. It’s all out there in a survival situation and you want someone who recognizes that with you. Marpet fits because of the offseason experiment at center. He is already well-cemented at right guard, but that doesn’t matter to him. If the Bucs need him to play center, he will play center. All he wants is success, and that makes him someone anyone should want in the hole with them.

So fans, which Bucs would you like to have in the foxhole with you? Who would get you out safely? Who would be the best at protecting you? Give us your thoughts on social media, and in the comments below.
