No. 2: Progression of the Offense

Tampa Bay was helped greatly in 2016 by a five-game winning streak that started in week 10. Over the course of that streak, the Bucs scored over 20 points just twice. Defense was the key, which allowed the offense a little leeway. Jameis Winston had a good second year, while Mike Evans had a great third year. However, with the injury to Vincent Jackson, the offense had to rely heavily on unproven guys like Adam Humphries and Cameron Brate. Fortunately, they stepped up. But heading into the offseason, the Bucs needed some more “#WeaponsForWinston.”

General manager Jason Licht certainly addressed the need for some more firepower on offense. Speedy deep threat DeSean Jackson came to Tampa Bay in free agency, then the draft brought tight end O.J. Howard and wide receiver Chris Godwin. Adding those three guys to an existing group of Evans, Humphries and Brate gives Winston some lethal options. Watching all of it come together during camp will be extremely entertaining.

Jackson alone will be a sight to see, especially when he matches up against the Buccaneer defense. He can only make those guys better, which is an added plus. Getting a look at Godwin will be fun, as will watching the beginning stages of the two tight end sets with Howard and Brate. Whether it’s in person or through social media, you’re going to want to keep an eye on the Buccaneer offense during camp.
