Just like his gunslinger, this Buccaneers talent has gotten better each season.

Also, like Winston, I don’t think Brate has hit his ceiling just yet.

Still, there are some concerns over whether or not this player’s statistical output can continue to climb with his play on the field.

Remember, players in the real NFL don’t need to rack up stats every week to make a huge impact on the game.

In fantasy football however, heart doesn’t score points and good teammates can be season killers in deep leagues.

Imagine how Julio Jones’ owners felt when he had his teammate of the year game in New Orleans last year. Yikes.

If you think I’m overreacting by saying Brate’s numbers will likely drop, as will his fantasy football effectiveness, let me throw some other people at you.

The guys over at The Fantasy Footballers gave their rankings for tight ends this year.

Andy, Jason and Mike all ranked Brate in the mid-20 to low 30 range for tight ends. Just tight ends folks.

Consensus ranking had him in at TE30 behind Jermaine Gresham, Zach Miller and even O.J. Howard.

Now, there’s plenty of time to adjust all of this before the season starts, but if you’re heading into your draft tomorrow this isn’t going to sit well with you.

Is he worth a stash in deeper leagues? Of course, he is. However, if you take him in any single-digit round, you’re drafting against yourself on this one.

I’m all about #MakeAmericaBrateAgain, but the fantasy football projections don’t look good.

My Prediction: 40 catches, 650-yards, and 5 touchdowns (TE20)

This has been my look at Cameron Brate’s fantasy football value as the Buccaneers starting tight end for 2017.
