Kicking Game Still with Issues

After the first preseason game against the Bengals when Coach Koetter and GM Licht chose to release struggling second year kicker Roberto Aguayo, Nick Folk was basically christened as the kicker but Zach Hocker was also signed as competition.

Folk got the start against the Jags and issued occurred right away after the Bucs scored a touchdown on the first drive … Folk’s extra point was blocked.

Then all looked well when Folk nailed a 35 yard field goal and a 29 yard field goal on the second and third offensive drives.

Then the bad news, on the sixth drive of the night with the twos in … he missed a 47 yard field goal wide right.

During the game he was 2 for 3 on field goals and 0 for 1 on extra points which cost the Bucs four points in the game.

Coach Koetter had this to say during his post game presser when asked about the kicking situation:

"“Nope, not quite what we were looking for.”"

I am guessing that this story will continue to roll on throughout the preseason but hopefully will be corrected before the season actually starts.
