Wide ReceiversMike Evans, DeSean Jackson, Adam Humphries, Chris Godwin and Bernard Reedy

Evans, Jackson, Humphries and Godwin are all locks to make the roster. However, who is going to win the 5th wide receiver spot has been about as clear as the Boston Harbor. My vote goes to Bernard Reedy.

Reedy has had the most consistent hands of three players that have a realistic shot of making the roster. Also Reedy has looked very good during the preseason returning punts. Being able to play special teams will more than likely be the deciding factor on who is awarded a place on the 53 man roster and Reedy is checking all the boxes.

The other receivers in the running are Josh Huff and Freddie Martino. Both have the size that the Buccaneers want in a fifth wide receiver but both have drawbacks as well. Huffs hands are bad. To be fair his hands are better than 97% of the humans walking the face of the earth, but just are not good enough for an NFL caliber receiver. His speed however is. Above average even. The Bucs have been feeding Huff the ball in practice on jet sweeps and passing routes. I just have not seen enough from Huff to make up for his knack of putting the ball on the turf.

Martino also has problems making a catch. Plus he doesn’t have the wheels that Huff has. Love his size but unfortunately this year, that won’t be enough.

Derel Walker, Jesus “Bobo” Wilson and Shaq Hill haven’t played any important minutes during the preseason and none of them are playing special teams. Two factors you look for when grading bubble players. All three get the axe.
