After the Buccaneers’ Week 1 match-up against the Dolphins was pushed to Week 11, many players and staff evacuated the area.

Now that Hurricane Irma has passed, the process of rebuilding and recovering begins for Buccaneers personnel and the citizens of Florida who were affected.

The Glazer family has decided to pitch in, donating $1 Million to the Red Cross Hurricane Irma Relief Efforts. This, according to the Buccaneers’ communications Twitter account.

It’s a great gesture, and one which should help the Red Cross get aid to those in need following this hurricane.

While the estimated damage potential was not met, there are still millions without power as of when I sat down to write this.

Over the weekend, I’ve witnessed an outpouring of support for those residing in Florida and along the path of Irma.

In a statement released to the media, Bryan Glazer said,

"“The long recovery process is already underway and the entire Buccaneer organization stands in support of all those who have been impacted.”"

While football has been on the margin of the minds of those preparing for Irma to make landfall, it’ll be a welcoming escape for those fortunate enough to make it to the game.

This Sunday, the Buccaneers open up their 2017 season at home against the Chicago Bears.

It’s to be seen just how many fans find their way to the stadium amidst the clean-up and recovery efforts, but those who do will be hoping to see their team secure their first win in what has been billed as a very promising year.

Good luck to all those who make their way back home to survey potential damages. Speedy recovery wished to all those who were impacted is wished as well.

Here’s hoping things can get back to normal sooner rather than later.
