Fantasy football sit, start, and sleepers: Divisional picks for 2017 Week 3
AFC SOUTH
There are no reliable fantasy football quarterback options here. But we may find one we can roll with.
The Jaguars host the Ravens early Sunday morning. Indianapolis brings in the Browns and Houston travels to New England Sunday afternoon.
The Bengals play in the late afternoon game against Green Bay as well.
SIT – Running back, Joe Mixon – Cincinnati Bengals
One of these weeks, the Bengals are going to move forward completely with Mixon as their primary back. When that happens, he could be fantasy relevant.
Until it does, continue to stash him.
START – Running back, Derrick Henry – Tennessee Titans
Murray may be the starter in Tennessee, but he’s nursing a hamstring, and Henry is coming for the job.
Seattle’s defense could use a good pounding, and Henry is the guy to do it.
SLEEPER – Running back, Frank Gore – Indianapolis Colts
Gore hasn’t eclipsed 50-yards yet this season, and he only has one score.
He also hasn’t hit the 15-carry mark yet in 2017. Against Cleveland though, these should both change as the Colts look to control the clock and score early.
NFC SOUTH
The Buccaneers are full of fantasy football options. Actually, this whole division is.
Tampa Bay plays in Minnesota this week while Atlanta visits Detroit. New Orleans and Carolina face-off as the Panthers look to stay perfect.
SIT – Carolina Panthers Defense
There’s some hype growing around the Panthers defense and their impressive start to the 2017 season.
However, they haven’t played Drew Brees yet. Well, now they get to. He’s still Brees, and you need to sit this defense.
START – Quarterback, Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons
While Detroit is currently in first place with a 2-0 record, it hasn’t all been perfect.
In fact, the Lions have been somewhat susceptible to a passing attack.
The Falcons have one of the better ones in the league, and Matt Ryan should be able to exploit his opponents in a high scoring event.
SLEEPER – Tight end, Cameron Brate – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Some fans of the Bucs may have been a bit disappointed to see Brate get just three targets.
When a player like DeSean Jackson joins the fold, someone is going to lose touches, and Brate was the Week 2 guy.
This week though, the receivers for Tampa are going to have some stiff competition, so Jameis Winston may look inside to Brate a bit more.
