Buccaneers Round Table: Which Bucs team is the real one?
Marc Magana
No one wants to talk about Sunday, myself included. Unfortunately, it has to be discussed, but honestly, it isn’t as bad as it seems.
Although the Bucs got manhandled in every phase of the game Sunday, what you saw on Sunday was not who the Bucs are going to be this season.
I don’t remember ever seeing a game where a team had that many injuries on one side of the ball. The Bucs had guys going down like flies.
While losing Lavonte for awhile will hurt, the Bucs will slowly round back into form. The week two version we saw of the Bucs is the real team, but with so many injuries sustained, it might take a few weeks to get them to round back into full form.
In the meantime, the Bucs need to win the games they “should” win. Every game in the NFL is tough, but the Bucs have enough firepower on offense to score while the defense recuperates.
The key will be Jameis limiting the turnovers and putting up 7, not 3. The play calling on offense might have to be more aggressive as the Bucs look to score points and not settle to keep their defense off the field and resting.
