FS- Chris Conte

If there is any player on the Bucs defensive roster who has really shown up in the past two games the Bucs have played, it has been free safety Chris Conte.

Conte who already has 13 tackles on the year as the free safety has been sound in coverage and has played above what many writers/fans have expected. By taking a look back at the previous game film versus Minnesota, it is quite clear that the opening touchdown by the Vikings should not have counted.

Conte who helped meet Dalvin Cook in the middle of the hole, punched the ball loose before it even got close to breaking the line… but yet the referees had indisputable evidence.

Go figure.

Conte and his fellow secondary go up against one of the games best receivers in Beckham along with a trio of capable threats in Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram and the old man Brandon Marshall.

As mentioned in the slide on Grimes, Eli Manning is 3-0 in his career versus the Bucs. Can Conte be the free safety that prevents any splash plays? Keep an eye on number 23 this week.
